Many of us perform acts of worship every day especially purification for prayer and the prayer itself, yet we may not realize that some of these acts might not be valid according to Islamic law. The main reason is that many have little time to truly study and understand, especially those who are busy with work and daily responsibilities.
However, the knowledge related to worship is fardhu ‘ain that’s an individual obligation that every Muslim must learn without exception.
This knowledge of worship is not only about how we perform it, but also why and for whom it is done. That is why the scholars have emphasized that every Muslim should study three essential branches of knowledge. Aqidah, which concerns faith and belief. Fiqh, to understand the rulings of worship, transactions, and daily life and Tasawwuf, to purify the heart and refine one’s character. Without the balance of these three, our worship may become mere physical movements, done out of habit, without soul or true understanding.
Through knowledge, we can worship with confidence and free from doubt and uncertainty. The heart becomes calm, knowing that every act of worship is valid, every ablution is complete and every prayer is rooted in correct understanding. This is the purpose of Laman Insyirah’s Project: Kelas Fiqh Manhaji (Thematic Fiqh Class) focusing on Purification and Prayer to help Muslims rediscover the foundations of worship in a way that is simple, structured, and spiritually meaningful.
